Letter, 1914 March 3, Malden, Mass. to John P. Roberts, Anson, Me.

Original letter in which Frank Roberts informs his uncle about the health of friends and relatives. However, the bulk of the letter deals with Frank's concern that "Romanism" [Roman Catholism] is "the greatest problem this country has every had aside from the Rebellion and Civil War ... The Romish church is doing every thing in their power to strengthen their forces by leting in all the ignorant forces from the old countries". As an example, he describes Polish factory workers who can't read or write and complains that "The Irish Catholics have ruined Boston, morally, socially and politically."
